New-wallet position
Did an account we have only just seen take a large position close to settlement?
In plain English
An account new to our observation took a large position shortly before this market resolves. New, large and last minute is a combination that warrants review.
What the record supports
- First observed activity for the account.
- The size of the position relative to the market.
- How close to resolution it was taken.
What the record does not support
- The account's true age. New means new to our observation, and an account can be far older than our record of it. Where observation of a platform is young, this indicator under-reports, and we say so rather than estimating.
- Whether the participant already trades with the operator under other accounts.
Obligation
Why it matters.
New, large, and last minute is a combination that warrants review on its own. It is the shape a participant takes when acting on something, and it is also the shape of an ordinary customer who has only just arrived, which is why it asks for a check of onboarding and funding records rather than asserting anything.
We describe what was detected and which duty it engages. Whether any obligation has been breached is a judgement for the operator's compliance and legal function, not for an instrument.
